UFG revolutionizes artificial intelligence with a new supercomputer and Blackwell B200 GPU

UFG Boosts Artificial Intelligence with New Supercomputer

The Federal University of Goiás (UFG) is establishing itself as a reference in artificial intelligence in South America. The Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CEIA-UFG) will feature a supercomputer equipped with Nvidia's Blackwell B200 GPUs, strengthening its research and development in AI.

RISC is proud to be part of this evolution, being responsible for the sale of these GPUs, which will expand UFG's computational capacity and accelerate innovative projects.

Cutting-Edge Supercomputing in Latin America

The project received an investment of R$ 40 million, made possible by institutions such as the Government of the State of Goiás, Fapeg, and Embrapii. The new infrastructure will feature 64 Blackwell B200 GPUs, in addition to the 24 H100 GPUs already in operation, making it the first in Latin America with this technology.

Called the Point of Delivery (POD), this structure will interconnect multiple GPUs to train and run advanced AI models.

Impact on Research and Innovation

According to Anderson Soares, scientific coordinator of CEIA-UFG, this advancement will bring significant benefits to research in health, energy, and agribusiness. One of the projects that will be enhanced by the new system is EnergyGPT, an AI focused on optimization and security in the electrical sector.

RISC's Commitment to Innovation

RISC continues to connect Brazil to the most advanced technologies, reinforcing its role in IT infrastructure and innovation. With this achievement, UFG strengthens its position in the global AI landscape, and RISC remains committed to driving the future of high-performance computing in the country.
